Visa Information
All visitors to India, aside from citizens of neighbouring Nepal and Bhutan, require a Visa for their stay. Citizens of New Zealand, Singapore, Luxembourg, Finland and Japan can take advantage of India's Visa on Arrival facility. Citizens of all other countries must apply for an Indian Visa prior to arrival.
There are a number of different types of Visas issued for India, including Tourist, Business, Employment, Research, Student, Journalist and more. You should check with your local Indian Embassy for the one most appropriate for you.
In many countries, the Indian Embassy is now outsourcing its Visa application process to private agencies for more efficiency. You can typically fill out your Visa application on-line or obtain an application form from your local Indian Embassy. You need to have a valid Passport to apply for an Indian Visa.
